HomePlugs-  AC network bridge.

HomePlugs are the generic name for powerline communciations standards that support networking over existing home electrical wiring.  Gotcha! self-networking cameras have been tested with two models of Home Plugs, the Linksys XE-102 and the Asoka Pluglink 9650.  All Gotcha! cameras and devices work with the Asoka Pluglink 9650.  The Linksys XE-102 will not work with the high Definition Gotcha! indoor cameras.  It is possible to use both models of Homeplugs on the same house wiring circuit but the router side Home plug must match the camera side homeplug since they use different transmission prototocols.  Homeplugs are designed for indoor use only.

Here is how they can be used with Gotcha! cameras:  Instead of using CAT5 cable for connecting the camera to the router, all you need to do is have one Homeplug for each camera and one Homeplug plugged into a LAN port on the router.  For example, you can have 2 cameras in different areas, each with its own Homeplug.  Simply plug the camera power supply in one socket and connect a CAT 5 cable from the camera to a Homeplug into the other socket of the duplex outlet.  At the router side, plug one Homeplug into the outlet with a section of CAT 5 cable connected between the Homeplug and any LAN port on the router.  If you have a 4 port router, additional cameras can be placed on the same router Homeplug.  Homeplugs require no networking knowledge, computer or software.  Simply plug the Gotcha! camera CAT5 cable into the Homeplug and you are online.  Immediately four advantages are apparent:  1) No requirement to string CAT5 cable throughout the house 2) This saves on time and expense and you don't have the "haywire" look of wires  3) This is an alternative to using wireless Gotcha! cameras for ease of camera setup. 4) Its very simple to move the Gotcha! cameras to different locations without changing any software or camera settings and without the time and expense of buying and installing network cable.  The homeplugs must be on the same circuits on the customer side of the power meter.

We are selling these Homeplugs at bargain prices to help our camera customers.  As a result, we restrict sales of Homeplugs to customers who have purchased Gotcha! cameras.  Other manufacturers and model numbers of Homeplugs may work but we have found that the Linksys XE 102 and Asoka Pluglink Model 9650 work well with our  cameras.  These Homeplugs are usually priced at $120 for a package of two.  Our Linksys XE-102 homeplugs are available while supplies last at $20 each with purchase of Gotcha! cameras.  The Asoka Pluglink 9650 homeplugs are recommended for the Gotcha! HD cameras and are also available only to customers who also buy Gotcha! cameras.  We are selling the Asoka Pluglink model 9650 for a limited time at $35 dollars each.  When ordering, remember to to order one per camera and one for a router port:  (2 units for one camera, 3 units for two cameras, 4 units for three cameras).  We have not tested more than three cameras per single router LAN port homeplug.
